Have you every taken a look at the stars on a clear night. You look up and see all of these little twinkling lights in this field of darkness and think "How pretty." When you were little, you learned to song twinkle twinkle little star and were shown the big dipper and the north star and stuff like that. But have you ever seen the stars up close?
About a year or so, I went to the How Great is Our God concert in NJ where our lives and our view of God was put into check. We were asked to imagine that the earth was the size of a golfball.
So if the earth were the size of a golfball, try and find where the US is, then your state, then your town, then your street, then your house, and then you on this golfball. Really hard to imagine that isn't it. you would probably be the size of one of the molecules that make up that golfball. Now imagine your golfball at the bottom of the empire state building, with 7 more empire state buildings stacked ontop of the Empire State Building. Guess what, if the earth were the size of a golf ball, those 8 Empire State Buildings stacked ontop of each other is the size of one of those "Diamonds in the sky". That's one of those "Twinkle twinkle little star"s. Wow, right. But that's not even all that big. "Right" your thinking. "Because the sun is like ten times bigger then that." No. The sun is actually smaller then that. If the earth were the size of a golfball, then the sun is the size of a school bus filled with golfballs. That's way smaller then the empire state building stacked 7 times.
